GDC Awards 2014: The Last of Us, Gone Home und Tearaway am häufigsten nominiert

Im März werden auf der Game Developers Conference 2014 einmal mehr zusammen mit den Preisen im Independent Games Festival auch die Game Developers Choice Awards vergeben. Die für die Auszeichnungen verantwortliche Jury gab heute bekannt, welche Studios darauf hoffen können, sich eine der Trophäen ins Regal zu stellen.

Sicherlich nicht ohne Preise werden Naughty Dog und Media Molecule die Rückreise aus San Francisco antreten: Mit jeweils fünf Nominierungen dürften The Last of Us und Tearaway wohl kaum ohne Ehrung bleiben. Das Duo war auch bei unseren Spielen des Jahres mehrfach dekoriert worden. Ebenfalls fünf Mal im Rennen ist das Debütprojekt von The Fullbright Company: Gone Home gehörte auch für uns zu den prägenden Titeln des vergangenen Jahres. The Stanley Parable folgt mit vier Nominierungen.

Dreifach nominiert sind Tomb Raider und Grand Theft Auto 5, während Super Mario 3D World, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Device 6 und Papers, Please immerhin in zwei Kategorien am Start sind. 

Die jeweiligen Macher von The Stanley Parable, Device 6 und Papers, Please haben es auch ins Finale des Independent Games Festival 2014 geschafft und können an jenem Abend also gegebenenfalls schon früher den Weg zur Bühne auskundschaften: Die Indie-Preise werden direkt vor den GDC Awards verliehen.

Die Preisvergabe findet am 19. März statt.
